General Programme
Strong, Secure, Committed
We owe it not only to ourselves, but also to our members, our dialogue partners, and the various military and political authorities in our country. Each of them has the right to know what the military union ACMP-CGPM stands for.
The General Programme was developed based on input from many of our delegates and members who responded to our call in De Schildwacht to share their ideas. These ideas were then refined in various working groups into a series of proposals that allowed us to draft the initial text.
The established points are, among other things, the result of a broad consultation with our union delegates—delegates who, as active military personnel, are in daily contact with both our members and other colleagues within units, services, and staffs of Defence. As such, they have a clear understanding of what is going on in the workplace and what is needed to get the military back on the right track. The proposed measures were also determined based on an extensive analysis of the future working environment. Both the context in which Defence will have to operate in the coming period and the nature of the military profession are constantly evolving. These new developments and underlying trends were therefore also taken into account to ensure that this General Programme is sufficiently future-proof. Furthermore, our members had the opportunity to vote on its contents on December 2, 2023.
We would therefore like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to this ‘anchor point’ of the ACMP-CGPM for the next five years.
